Per Gullestrup appointed Non-Executive Director of Garrets
10 November 2014
Garrets is pleased to announce that Per Gullestrup has joined the board as Non-Executive Director. In this capacity, Per will work with the board on strategy and on the development of the wider proposition.
Per started his career with AP Moller Maersk, and has worked within the Clipper Group in various management positions for over 30 years. He now holds a number of non-executive roles, including being Chairman of ISWAN (International Seafarers Welfare Assistance Network) and a Board member of Somali Fair Fishing. (His connection with Somalia dates back to his high profile, successful negotiation for the release of the Clipper Group ship CEC Future and its crew, held hostage by Somali pirates in November 2008). Per remains a partner in Clipper Group but has no involvement in the running of the business.
Geoff Battersby, CEO Garrets, said “Per brings to Garrets a depth and breadth of experience and I believe that his perspective on the development of the shipping industry will be invaluable as we shape the business for the future.”
