Kester, a leading sector-focused private equity firm, is pleased to announce that Evestia Clinical (“Evestia”) has acquired Emtex Life Science (“Emtex”), a specialist regulatory medical writing company headquartered in Belgium.
This transaction represents Evestia’s third acquisition since Kester’s investment in December 2024, following the acquisition of Atlantic Research Group in July 2025 and ICRC-Weyer in January 2026. The combined group will continue to be led by the Evestia executive team, who will be joined by Emtex’s founders, Mieke Notenbaert and Mario de Witte.
Emtex brings extensive expertise in regulatory medical writing, clinical documentation, scientific publications and medical communications, which will be integrated with Evestia’s existing medical writing offering. At the same time, Emtex’s clients will benefit from access to Evestia’s full suite of global clinical trial services from Phase I-III and beyond, providing more integrated, end-to-end support across core therapeutic areas including oncology, neurology, and rare diseases.
Richard Barfield, Chairman of Evestia Clinical, said: “The acquisition of Emtex aligns with our strategy to build a market-leading, global and independent specialist CRO through targeted acquisitions that deepen our expertise and enhance the services we offer pharma and biotech innovators. Emtex’s established expertise in regulatory medical writing and scientific communications complements and further enhances our existing capabilities, and expands the bespoke support we can offer clients worldwide.”
Adam Maidment, Managing Partner of Kester, said: “Evestia’s acquisition of Emtex is another exciting step in Evestia’s goal to become a truly global specialist CRO that provides high-quality, tailored services to clients. We look forward to working with the Emtex team and continuing to support Evestia in its growth ambitions, both organically and through further acquisitions.”
